My Wife and I decided to spend the day in Downtown Denver and ended up going to the Denver Art Museum. When we were all done with that, there was only one other thing we could think of doing. Going to get a beer! Black Project wasn't too far away, so we decided to head over there since we hadn't been in a while.
This was only our second time visiting Black Project, but the first time left such a great impression, we don't know what took us so long to come back. We ended up ordering the Magic Lantern (Gose with Guava, Passionfruit, & Blood Orange) and Shadow Factory (Sour Wheat Ale with Cranberry & Boysenberry).
Skylar loves almost any beer that has Guava and Passionfruit in it, so that was a must for her! The last time we came in, I had the Shadow Factory with Blackberry & Black Currant and it pretty much blew away my taste buds! The Magic Lantern was very acidic and tart with some slight bitterness from the blood orange. The Shadow Factory was tart and juicy with some slight acidity, a great variant from the previous one I tried. I'm really just a sucker for a beer that has a great color on it.
The visit was short-lived, but we had a great time for a small beer break. Our son Miles was with us, so the quiet environment inside was perfect for us. The gloomy day made it a bit darker in the tasting room than normal, giving it subtle lighting.
